Speaker 1: So our mission at the University of West Florida for our Educational Leadership Program is to provide a rigorous and relevant course plan for all of our students.

Speaker 2: We’ll offer you the opportunity to really develop the knowledge and skills, and to become innovative and reflective leaders.

Speaker 3: Being part of the Educational Leadership Program at the University of West Florida is the perfect blend of theory and practice.

Speaker 4: At UWF, everything we did was so practical. But every instructor made sure we understood that here’s how you can take this and put it into practice, so that you’ll be more versatile in your approach to leadership, that you’ll also just be more knowledgeable overall.

Speaker 1: So the flexibility of our program allows students to take a course each term. And by doing that, they complete the 10 courses in 18 months.

Speaker 2: It is a fully online program designed with the student in mind.

Speaker 1: So when applying to our program, it’s important that you have professional teaching certification. We also need your most recent teacher evaluations.

Speaker 2: They have to show that they have instructional expertise as well.

Speaker 1: The reason why we need that is so that we know that you understand best practices, that you are a highly effective, or effective teacher in the classroom, so that you can then model those practices for others as a future leader.

Speaker 4: My experience at UWF has really shaped me into who I am as a professional, but also as an educator. I’m basing my leadership philosophies and principles on what I learned at UWF.

Speaker 2: One of the things that we wanna focus on is creating instructional leaders and developing those instructional leaders to understand what it means to lead in diverse settings.

Speaker 3: All of the coursework is designed to help you along the path of educational leadership and decide what that leadership role will look like for you.

Speaker 4: I selected UWF because it was accredited, and it’s also a nationally-ranked university.

Speaker 1: I think it’s important for us as instructors to design courses that allow students to engage with one another.

Speaker 2: We want our students to know how we can create places where people feel like they belong.

Speaker 4: UWF is a fantastic choice because it does not limit you to a certain time or place. You’re able to study with your busy life but still go to a very reputable university with high program success.

Speaker 1: We do whatever it takes to help our students to be successful in the program.

Speaker 3: You might not know exactly the direction, but you know if you wanna be a leader, that getting into this program can help you find your specific path.
