At the University of West Florida Online, we have made the admissions process for our online programs as simple as possible. Some programs have the flexibility to choose from multiple start dates throughout the year, you can begin your program at a time that works best for you. Here is what you can expect when you apply for one of our online programs, along with admission requirements for undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and certificate programs.
Apply to UWF Online
1. Get in touch with us.
Complete the form on your program’s page to request more information or get connected with an enrollment counselor or UWF faculty member. They will answer your questions and help you discover the program that best meets your goals.
2. Easily submit your application online.
After you’ve found the right program, you can conveniently complete your application for admission online. Be sure to fill out all required fields and submit any additional materials for your program.

- Submit all department requirements for graduate programs
3. Prepare for your first day of classes.
When you have been accepted to your program, complete these tasks to prepare for your first day of classes:
- Create and verify your student account
- Accept financial aid offers, such as student loans, scholarships or grants
- Work with your appropriate online academic advisor for program advising
- Enroll in your online courses
- Pay tuition and related fees
- Purchase textbooks and materials required for your classes
Admission Requirements
Below are general admission requirements for our programs and certificates. Refer to your program’s page for additional or differing requirements.
Certificate Requirements
Current degree-seeking UWF students do not need to submit a new application for certificates.
To be considered for admission to the University of West Florida’s online certificate programs, you must be admitted to the University as a non-degree-seeking student.
- Submit either an undergraduate or graduate non-degree-seeking application.
- Once accepted as a non-degree-seeking student, students should contact the appropriate advisor for course availability and scheduling.
- Complete either the online undergraduate or graduate certificate declaration form on MyUWF.
Undergraduate Requirements
- Submit an application for undergraduate admission and a $30 application fee. If you do not submit the fee online, you may send payment to:

- Submit official transcripts from all institutions previously attended whose accrediting agency is included on the list of UWF approved accrediting agencies. Transcripts should be mailed to:

- Complete the residency application form through your MyUWF account for tuition purposes.
- Submit a financial responsibility statement via MyUWF. You will need to do this each semester.

- Submit all official transcripts, including a required bachelor’s degree, earned from institutions previously attended whose accrediting agency is included on the list of UWF approved accrediting agencies with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale on the last 60 hours of coursework in the baccalaureate degree. - Submit official test results from a standardized graduate school entry exam, such as the GRE, MAT, GMAT or an equivalent acceptable for the program to which you are applying. Test scores must be no more than 5 years old.
UWF Approved Accrediting Agencies
UWF will only accept credits from institutions whose accrediting agency is included on the list of UWF approved accrediting agencies, outlined below:
- Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) Western Association of Schools and Colleges
- Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
- Middles States Commission of Higher Education (MSCHE)
- New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
- Northwest Commissions on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
- WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)
